New Heaven and New Earth (Revelation 21:1-8)
2:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared. Now there was no sea.
2:2 And I saw the holy city coming down out of heaven from God. This holy city is the new Jerusalem. It was prepared like a bride dressed for her husband.
2:3 I heard a loud voice from the throne. The voice said, “Now God’s home is with men. He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them and will be their God.
2:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain. All the old ways are gone.”
I heard you were coming down is built like an echo to this revelation, from the text taken from the book of Revelation (21), in which God comes among men to take away their suffering, just after the end of the first creation. Many of us hope, believe or expect something from the outside, a divine outside. In search of these forms of incarnation, I oriented this work by going to encounter reality, to see if the mirror of our fundamental condition could manifest itself from the outside, and reveal what would be hidden inside. If God is among men and into the world, would time and reality just be illusions?
Apocalypse (Revelation 21:1-8)
2:1 Alors j’ai vu un ciel nouveau et une terre nouvelle, car le premier ciel et la première terre s’en étaient allés et, de mer, il n’y en a plus.
2:2 Et la Ville sainte, la Jérusalem nouvelle, je l’ai vue qui descendait du ciel, d’auprès de Dieu, prête pour les noces, comme une épouse parée pour son mari.
2:3 Et j’entendis une voix forte qui venait du Trône. Elle disait : “Voici la demeure de Dieu avec les hommes ; il demeurera avec eux, et ils seront ses peuples, et lui-même, Dieu avec eux, sera leur Dieu.
2:4 Il essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux, et la mort ne sera plus, et il n’y aura plus ni deuil, ni cri, ni douleur : ce qui était en premier s’en est allé.”
I heard you were coming down est une série construite sous la forme d’un écho à un extrait du texte tiré du livre de l’Apocalypse (21), dans lequel Dieu vient parmi les hommes pour leur ôter leurs souffrances, juste après la fin de la première création. Beaucoup d’entre nous, espèrent, croient ou attendent quelque chose qui viendrait de l’extérieur, un extérieur divin. À la recherche de ces formes d’incarnation, j’ai orienté ce travail en allant à la rencontre de la réalité, pour y voir si le miroir de notre condition fondamentale pouvait se manifester du dehors, et dévoiler ce qui se cacherait au dedans. Si Dieu est bien parmi les hommes et dans le monde, est-ce que le temps et la réalité sont des illusions ?
